The Nyanza Modern Market and Taxi Park program formalizes informal roadside trading into a safe, serviced complex while reorganizing public transport staging. Covered stalls, cold storage, sanitation blocks and digital vendor management raise trading standards; adjacent bus, minibus and moto bays streamline passenger circulation.

By co-locating the market and taxi park, the project maximizes land efficiency, strengthens last-mile logistics, and supports district revenue generation.

PHASED DELIVERY WITH DISTRICT ALIGNMENT

UB CONNECT and Nyanza District are sequencing construction so priority sheds, pavements, taxi bays and utility corridors come online first. Vendor relocation plans keep livelihoods intact while new canopies and drainage upgrades are built.

The management model introduces cashless stall fees, digital scheduling for buses and motos, CCTV-ready lighting and organized waste handling to maintain hygiene. Design guidelines ensure future expansion plots can host cold rooms, warehouses and additional transport lanes.

Once operational, a joint market authority will oversee maintenance, safety and tenant services, ensuring the hub remains sustainable and profitable for the district.
